Established in 1996 as Community Benefit Society Bedoc is one of the leading OOH care providers in Bedfordshire. Consistently achieving standards for efficiency and performance, the Bedoc team of dedicated doctors and nurses also has an excellent track record in clinical care, patient satisfaction and outcomes and are regulated as a quality service provider by our local commissioning team.
Bedoc has a track record of innovation and willingness to work collaboratively with other urgent care providers and commissioners alike. As a provider of quality telephone and face-to-face clinical services in the primary out of hour’s sector, Bedoc also delivers services to local out of hours A&E attendances. In addition to this Bedoc runs an innovative nurse led Complex Care team – providing in-reach into our local Care and nursing homes , enabling nursing assessments , prevention of admission and extensive medicine management and reconciliation. Bedoc are Care Quality Commission registered in 2012.
Bedoc has since inception provided and invested in GP registrar training. We are accredited through the East of England multi professional deanery and until recently were the only accredited GP out of hour provider in the area.
Our clinical location is based at Bedford Hospital main outpatients department and we are co-located alongside the A&E department. Our service provides OOH cover to a population size of 174000 Bedford residents that are registered at the 26 local GP practices. We also stream an average of 8000 A&E attendees per year into our service.
