North Hampshire Urgent Care provides out of hours services for the ½ million patients of North Hampshire, West Surrey and part of East Berkshire, including several MOD sites, 2 psychiatric hospitals and 1 community hospital.
Additionally it provides Improved Access to Psychological Therapies for North East Hampshire.
North Hampshire Urgent Care was formed by the merger in 2006 of two former co-ops, Hantsdoc and Blackwater Valley Doctors Co-op and is a Community Benefit Society.
NHUC benefits from having strong engagement among the local GPs who still cover 66% of the rota. Nurses make up 20% of the clinical workforce and provide triage and face to face consultations.
NHUC has 2 bases, one at Frimley Park Hospital and one at North Hampshire Hospital in Basingstoke - both of which have been rated ‘Good’ by the CQC in 2017, and handles 75,000 patient contacts per annum.
