North Hampshire Urgent Care (NHUC) provides out of hours primary care services for a population of 538,000 residing in North Hampshire, North East Hampshire, Farnham, Surrey Heath and part of East Berkshire, including supporting our local community hospitals.
Additionally it provides Improved Access to Psychological Therapies for North East Hampshire and Farnham.
NHUC is working in partnership with South Central Ambulance Service, Partnering Health Ltd and the 9 Clinical Commissioning Groups pan Hampshire to co-design and deliver the Integrated Urgent Care model.
In addition in September 2019 NHUC took over a challenged GP practice in Basingstoke.
NHUC benefits from having strong engagement among the local GPs who still make up 95% of the rota. Nurses make up 20% of the clinical workforce and provide triage and face to face consultations, along with our pharmacists.
NHUC has 2 OOH bases, one at Frimley Park Hospital and one at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital - both of these OOH services have been rated ‘Good’ by the CQC in 2017, and handle 75,000 patient contacts per annum.
